Eastern Shore SHRM is an affiliate of the Society for Human Resources Management. The chapter represents Dorchester, Somerset, Wicomico, and Worcester counties in Maryland and the Eastern Shore of Virginia.
Since its grass roots beginning in 2002 with a handful of members, the chapter currently boasts membership in excess of 100 individuals. Many members are seasoned HR professionals. In fact, nearly ¼ of the members are certified through the national SHRM chapter. But the majority of the members are individuals who struggle as they perform human resources functions as part of other job duties.
Eastern Shore SHRM’s primary goal is to serve the human resources professional and advance the profession by providing services and education to employers. Our monthly meetings offer the opportunity to learn about the business of human resources, stay abreast of employment laws and regulations, and provide advice on how to deal with HR challenges. Members are given the opportunity to network with others involved in HR work and, if desired, to take on leadership roles to further enhance their knowledge about human resources.
