About Us

    Vision Statement

The Eastern Shore SHRM will be recognized as the area's premier resource center for providing ongoing professional development for the human resources community, serving the needs of the broader community in workforce development and collaborating as a strategic business partner.

    Mission Statement

We serve and advance the human resources profession by providing services and education that support and add value to employers, employees and the HR community.

    History

Since its grass roots beginning in 2002 with a handful of members, the chapter currently boasts membership in excess of 100 HR managers. Many members are seasoned HR professionals. In fact, nearly ¼ of the members are certified through the Society for Human Resource Management .   The majority of our members are emerging professionals in the human resource field or they perform human resource duties as part of their jobs.

    Goal

Eastern Shore SHRM’s primary goal is to serve the human resources professional and advance the profession by providing services and education to employers. Our monthly meetings offer the opportunity to learn about the business of human resources, stay abreast of employment laws and regulations, and provide advice on how to deal with HR challenges. Members are given the opportunity to network with others involved in HR work and, if desired, to take on leadership roles to further enhance their knowledge about human resources.
