    Presenter: Michale Jump, Hepburn & Sons LLC 

    Mike Jump, Director of Warfare Systems, retired from Navy civil service as a GS-15 Executive Director, Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC), Wallops Island. He earned his BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland and MS in Electrical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University. He is an expert in Nuclear Weapon Effects, Integrated Warfare Systems development, acquisition and certification and Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) hardening. He has served as PM at BAE leading the technical and programmatic support to PEO IWS 5.0, Underwater Weapon Systems. As Executive Director for SCSC, he led the AEGIS Combat System, AEGIS Weapon System and all variants of AEGIS Ballistic Missile Defense, including Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) and DDG 1000 Integrated Combat System. He was the Technical Director for the USN EMP/EMPRESS II program in 1994 culminating in successful full threat EMP trials of Tomahawk, Standard Missile, Sparrow, Ordnance Gunnery, live Ordnance, multiple Navy ships, HMS Lancaster and the USS ANZIO. He was the project lead for the Nuclear Weapon Effects acquisition requirements for EHF SATCOM which included blast, thermal, ionizing radiation (neutron flux, gamma dot and total gamma) and High Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP). He joined Hepburn and Sons in 2015.
